Goldstar Care
About

We built Goldstar Care because someone had to.

Australia's care system has a gap — the place between basic help around the house and full clinical care. Most providers pick a side. We're the ones who built a team to cover both, in your home, on the days it matters.

Our story

We built Goldstar Care because home should be a promise — not a compromise.

There's a quiet failure happening in Australian care. Aged care facilities are full or out of reach. The government's message is clear: stay home. Support at Home is expanding. Home is where care is supposed to happen now — but the care that follows people home is often thinner than the care they left behind.

Providers decline complex referrals because they're "too hard." Rosters fall over in week two. Hospital discharges go home with fragile arrangements and hope. NDIS participants bounce between providers. Plans that read beautifully on paper never quite arrive in the living room.

That's the gap. And closing it — with clinical oversight, small caseloads, dedicated care teams, serious governance and a genuine refusal to leave people behind — is the whole reason Goldstar Care exists.

Our values

What drives us every day

Serious about care

Not a posture. A standard we hold ourselves to, every week.

Clinical depth

RN-led oversight where most providers go thin. Actual backup when it's hard.

Continuity

A dedicated care team. Small caseloads. Care managers who know your name and your plan.

Accountability

A promise is only as good as the people standing behind it next Tuesday — so we build the team that has to keep it.

Why we do it this way

Care got industrial.
We're keeping it personal.

It used to be that you knew the person looking after your mum. You knew their name. They knew yours.

Then care got industrial. Rosters got thinner. Names got swapped. Care plans started reading the same. The person on the phone changed every fortnight. Individualised care became something people remembered, not something they got.

We're bringing the old way back — with the new tools that make it actually possible.

A carer and participant at home, taking time together
Care Managers

Your care manager. From day one.

We've invested in dedicated Care Managers — for NDIS participants and Support at Home clients — so the person running your plan today is still the person running it two years from now.

And each of them brings lived experience to the work. They're in the system with their own families and friends — navigating the same plans, the same paperwork, the same conversations. They understand the challenges because they've been there. And they've already worked out most of the answers.

BN
Belinda Nawar
Senior Care Manager

Belinda is the eldest of our founders' daughters — Goldstar Care has been around her dinner table for as long as Goldstar Care has existed.

TF
Tanina Floyd
Care Manager

Tanina is the kind of person small towns are built around. Direct, warm, hard to rattle. When a family calls upset, she doesn't escalate with them — she steadies the room and works the problem.

RS
Renee Scott
Care Manager · Enrolled Nurse

Renee is an Enrolled Nurse with hospital wards behind her — she trained as a nurse and looked after patients on the wards before she came to us.

MG
Melvin Ganuelas
Lead Clinical Nurse

Melvin is one of our clinical nurses — and the one the rest of the team turns to. He studied nursing in Melbourne and led clinical oversight for 144 aged care residents before joining Goldstar Care: wound care, dementia, palliative, the harder calls.

CI
Claire Ireland
Care Manager

Claire spent years on the floor as a support worker before she stepped behind a desk — which means she still talks to participants and workers like the people they are, not the entries on a roster.

SM
Sam Mehmet
Care Manager

Sam is the youngest of our founders' daughters. She watched Goldstar Care grow up around her, and the company is family to her in the way other families talk about a small business or a farm.

Plus a registered nurse-led clinical team, an after-hours on-call team, and a leadership group that picks up the phone.

Meet the founders

The people behind Goldstar Care

We're not lifelong care workers. We're operators who got tired of watching the people we love fall through gaps no one was actually paid to close — so we built a care company designed around the gap.

Daniel

Director
Background
Son of a refugee · Chartered Accountant · 15+ years across strategy & tech

Daniel is the son of a refugee from East Timor. He learned early what it costs when systems forget about people, and what it looks like when someone shows up anyway. Fifteen years in strategy, finance and technology (Deloitte, private equity, enterprise) gave him the toolkit. Goldstar Care is what he's chosen to point it at.

Renato

Director
Background
Two decades inside services businesses · operations & finance

Renato has spent twenty years inside services businesses figuring out why they break — usually because the system stopped paying attention to the person at the end of it. He brought that lens to Goldstar Care so the people who answer your calls have what they need to actually help you, and the bits behind the scenes don't slow down the bits that matter.
